On Friday November 22, President John F. Kennedy was assassinated, and the Hughes
School did not go unaffected.   At approximately 1pm students were assembled and told of
the events. School was dismissed and did not resume until Tuesday the 26th after a national
day of mourning.

No other events were noted for this school year except for a most unusual football game that
resulted in a Hughes victory over Marion by a score of 3-2.  (See Photos)
